Happy National Museum Day from the Mobile Museums of Tolerance! The Museum of Tolerance Los Angeles laid the foundation for bringing the MMOT to life. As an extension of the MOT, we take the same powerful lessons about history, tolerance, and human rights directly to schools and communities across the country.

On board our mobile classroom, led by licensed educators, students explore the Holocaust, the Civil Rights Movement, Anne Frank's story, antisemitism, bullying, and the dangers of online hate through immersive technology and facilitated discussion. We are currently visiting communities in California, New York, Illinois, Florida, and Massachusetts, with more states coming soon.

The Mobile Museums of Tolerance bring innovative lessons in history, tolerance, and digital literacy straight to your community. 🚌

We were thrilled to welcome Rep. Ritchie Torres onto our Mobile Museum of Tolerance in his district in the Bronx at Kinneret Day School!

Rep. Torres has been a staunch supporter of all communities that make up his district, including the vibrant Jewish community and Kinneret Day School. He recognized the importance of our work and made clear it is needed now more than ever.

We thank the Congressman for his commitment to fighting hate in all its forms and appreciate the opportunity to show him exactly how we're fighting back through education. That day, Kinneret students took part in two of our signature workshops, Civil Rights and Combatting Hate in Digital Spaces, equipping young people with the tools to recognize, reject, and respond to hate.

The MMOT's work doesn't stop at any one district. Our educators are on the road across New York, Illinois, Florida, Massachusetts, and California, bringing these vital conversations directly to students and communities who need them most.

Our education department is a nationwide leader in teaching tolerance.

Read a new op-ed from our Director of Field Education (Northeast), Samantha Hirsch, on why tolerance education has to start young and why silence lets hate grow. At the Mobile Museums of Tolerance, our mission breaks that silence. As Hirsch put it, our responsibility is "to create spaces strong enough to help students make sense of the world and build greater reservoirs of tolerance for those around them."

Our Mobile Museums of Tolerance continue to be on the move, bringing vital education on tolerance to kids around the country.

Check out our segment on featuring the MMOT California's visit to Westview High School: https://wiesenthal.org/mmot-westviewsd

During the visit, MMOT educator Ewa Geisler led students through "Ordinary People," an immersive Holocaust workshop exploring how everyday individuals can be manipulated into committing unthinkable acts. By the end, students walked away with a deeper grasp of the conditions that made the Holocaust possible and a better understanding of how to recognize propaganda today.

Our Mobile Museums of Tolerance (MMOT) continue to be on the move, bringing vital education on tolerance to kids around the country.

Innovation in Education from the MMOT 🚌

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance Massachusetts is officially on the road, heading to schools and communities across the state!

We had our first school visit at Collins Middle School in Salem, MA, where we spent the day with their 8th graders who participated in our flagship workshop; The Power of Ordinary People. The energy was high, the questions were thoughtful, and students showed up eager to learn and engage.

We also had a special visit from Senator Joan B. Lovely, who explored the MMOT experience and left excited to spread the word of the MMOT’s innovative approach to teaching tolerance.

Stay tuned, we’re gearing up for more visits across Massachusetts!

This 6th grader at Windermere Ranch Middle School in California shows us that real strength includes : “willingness to allow people to do, say, or believe what they want.”

At the Mobile Museums of Tolerance, we help students build that strength by teaching history, empathy, and how to be upstanders.
