NEW!!Did you visit The Bembridge House last year? Or maybe you just love supporting local history from afar. Our online gift shop features specially curated items inspired by the house, including original Bembridge family photographs and recreated historic designs.

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, August 29 at 11 AM for our final Hot Dog Story Time before school starts!

Local author Brittany Hart Scholten will be joining us to read Leah’s Long Beach Adventures — a colorful celebration of the places, people, and little details that make Long Beach special. After the story, young readers can meet Brittany and have their books signed.

And because it wouldn’t be Hot Dog Story Time without the hot dogs… Chef Alan will be serving them up while supplies last! 🌭

Bring the kids, enjoy a story together, and spend your Saturday morning at one of Long Beach’s historic landmarks.

Due to excessive temperatures, we are going to give our docents the day off today and Bembridge House will be closed, Wed Aug 26.

Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine Community Centers and Long Beach Public Library locations are available as designated cooling centers and select locations will extend standard hours through Friday, Aug. 28.

Please contact Community Centers and Library locations ahead of time to confirm hours of operation.

For the past week, work has been underway on the exterior of the house, made possible in part by the support we received through our 2024 and 2025 Long Beach Gives campaigns. It’s been wonderful watching this preservation project come to life—and the house is already looking amazing.

And yes, we’re still open! Tours, events, and programs are continuing while the work moves along, so come see the progress for yourself.

Got a green thumb—or want to grow one?

Every Thursday from 10 AM–1 PM, our garden volunteers gather at the Bembridge House to w**d, plant, prune, tidy, and help care for the beautiful grounds surrounding our historic home.

And yes—you’re invited! Gardening days are open to the public, and you don’t need to be an experienced gardener to join us. Come for an hour or stay for the morning, meet some wonderful people, and help keep a little piece of Long Beach history growing.

It’s that time of year again… Whisper in the Walls returns to the Bembridge House this October.

Each fall, the Bembridge Family hosts a lavish Fall Ball. Guests arrive dressed in their finest, the house fills with music and celebration…and then the clock strikes midnight.

The doors close.

And everyone inside is trapped in the house. Forever.

Join us for an immersive haunted tour through the historic Bembridge House, where you’ll encounter Mrs. Bembridge, Mr. Bembridge and the unfortunate guests who attended the Fall Ball throughout the decades—and never left.
