NIAM is proud to display the work of two Indo-American artists - Prem Sharma and Neeta Maheshwari at our Lombard campus.

Prem Sharma creates large abstracts, originating in her imagination, driven by ideas and emotions, expressed beautifully in acrylic. Neeta Maheshwari's exhibit at NIAM showcases the theme of gardens, flowers and waterlilies, rendered in Acrylic and Oil.

Check out their work with a visit to our museum.

NIAMuseum’’s Desi Roots and Wings exhibit is about the Indian American experience in America through the centuries since the first immigrants and settlers came here in the early 17th century. The exhibit is divided into two parts – Desi Roots which showcases the original voices and stories of Indian settlers in the US through WWI. Wings which documents narratives from WWI to present day and beyond.
 .
The goal of DRW is to take charge of the Indian American narrative and showcase the history of our diaspora to learn and understand the dynamics of immigration as well as preserve the original stories for future generations.
Phase I of DRW is in the works and expected to launch May 2024. Watch this space for more teasers and exciting snippets from the development of the Wings Exhibit at NIAM

The Cultural Rhythm team at NIAM conducted the first CR session at Palmer Elementary School in Chicago on Nov 30th for their 2nd grade students. The Cultural Rhythm program was developed with the generous support of the Ralla Klepak Foundation for Education in the Performing Arts and included an interactive lecture delivered by the performers, a dance demonstration and instruction, along with craft activity. NIAM provided props (maps and stands), musical instruments for the children to touch, feel and play, craft materials and books for the session.

Cultural Rhythm program will be scheduled in other public schools in Chicago and neighboring suburbs in 2024.
