Sheldon Museum of Art will be closed Friday, October 9, as we transform the Great Hall into the Velvet Paw Jazz Club for our annual gala. This event is just one way community members can support the museum and our mission to ignite discovery, inquiry, and connection.

Halloween at Sheldon returns Friday, October 30th with a masquerade you won't want to miss! 🎃🎃🎃 Enjoy art, refreshments, and festive fall activities including:
🧛‍♀️ Music by DJ
🔮 Oracle and Vedic astrology readings with Al Goodier and .becwar
💃 Pop-up drag performances by and .j.luxe
👻 Dowsing rod séances with artists from the afterlife
🍸 Themed cocktails, mocktails, charcuterie, and snacks
🏆 Raffle prizes and more!

Join us this Wednesday for the launch of "The Lives of Immigrants & Refugees: Tales of Migration, Hope, Grief, and Finding Home in Nebraska"—a collection of 31 new, original essays about the personal experience of global migration and creating home and community in Lincoln. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Co-sponsored by the Institute for Ethnic Studies, Global Studies, the Department of English, the Writing Program, the Ervin and Loretta Krause Creative Writing Program, Prairie Schooner, the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, and the Center for Great Plains Studies. Free and open to all.

The Sheldon Student Advisory Board is a cross-disciplinary group of undergraduate students selected for a one-of-a-kind experiential learning opportunity through the Sheldon Museum of Art. This semester, that means researching, curating, and presenting a fully realized, museum-caliber exhibition alongside Sheldon's flagship spring exhibitions.
