Historic landscape and house tours are available Friday through Sunday 11 AM - 3:30 PM. The Museum Store is open Friday through Sunday from 10:00AM to 4PM.

Now is a great time to join the Olana Membership family! This Sunday, June 28 from 11am to 12pm, members are invited to join Annik LaFarge, author of “Composing Olana,” for an exclusive guided tour along Olana’s Ridge Road.

Walk with Annik as she excavates the rich stories found in Olana’s landscape and views, from the political maneuvering between the Mohicans and Dutch settlers in the 17th century to the work of 20th environmental activists to preserve the health and beauty of the Hudson Valley.

Tomorrow marks the summer solstice, the official beginning of summer and the longest period of daylight of the calendar year in the Northern Hemisphere.

Summer at OLANA means live music on the lawn during Third Thursdays, additional walking tours and extended hours, as well as events for everyone as part of the Frederic Church 200 celebrations.

This Saturday, join The Olana Partnership’s FREE Artmaking in the Afternoon program to learn more about Juneteenth by borrowing from our collection of family-friendly Juneteenth books and participating in reflective artmaking activities.

Take time to read and reflect on the history and significance of the day, which is a celebration of when the last remaining enslaved Americans learned of the end of slavery, with titles like “The Juneteenth Story” by Alliah L. Agostini or “On Juneteenth” by Annette Gordon-Reed.

Olana Third Thursday - Outdoor Evenings begin June 18! Mark your calendar for the upcoming performance by Illari, a rhythm-centered ensemble exploring migration, lineage, and identity through Afro-Peruvian and diasporic sound.

Their music brings together percussion, voice, and improvisation to create an immersive, movement-driven experience.

The event is FREE and takes place outside the historic house on June 18, 6 - 7 PM. Free house access from 5 - 7 PM. Check in at the Visitor Center for details.

Likely inspired by their experience in Jamaica, Frederic and Isabel created a Fern Bed at Olana. See this painting in person and then take your own spring fern walk through the landscape at OLANA this week!

As part of a new exhibition opening June 12, The Metropolitan Museum of Art will display the lead model obelisk that was presented to Church for his role in helping to determine the placement of Cleopatra’s Needle in Central Park.

See “Orientalism: Between Fact and Fantasy,” which “explores notions of “the East” in the 19th century, when globalism, shaped by colonialism and imperialism, fueled unprecedented encounters, connections, and exchanges in Europe and the Middle East.”
