📣UP Art Studio is creating a mosaic artist registry, and we want to see your work.

We are looking for artists who work in glass, ceramic, tile, and mixed-media mosaic for consideration on upcoming public art commissions. The registry is how we will find and shortlist artists for projects, so if you want to be on our radar, this is the place to start.

Open to all artists.

📣We are excited to share a new opportunity for sculptors. UP Art Studio is managing a Call for Sculptures for the Sunnyside Redevelopment Authority, and it opens today.

Sunnyside is the oldest African American community in southern Houston, and this call will bring permanent
public sculpture to the neighborhood. We are looking for existing sculptures, or commissions of designs you
have already created, that speak to the community and are built to last outdoors for more than 20 years.

What you need to know:
💲Budget: $10,000 to $40,000 per piece
🎨Open to professional artists and artist teams
📆Deadline: Monday, September 21, 2026
✅Selection by late October

🎨 Houston artists, the clock is ticking. Applications for the Trailheads at Sims Bayou and Buffalo Speedway open call close June 30.

We’re commissioning original artwork for four concrete trailhead structures that welcome the community to the Sims Bayou trail system, one of the most visible corridors in southwest Houston.

What’s included:
✅ $14,000 artist fee, all inclusive
✅ Up to three finalists each receive a $500 stipend
✅ Open to Houston-area, regional artists, and beyond
✅ Brush artists welcome, no mineral paint experience required

The Hiram Clarke Fort Bend Redevelopment Authority/TIRZ 25 is proud to unveil a new banner series lining key corridors throughout our area in celebration of the upcoming World Cup. Designed by acclaimed artist IN-ZO, the banners bring bold visuals and a dynamic artistic perspective that captures the spirit of global connection through sport, culture, and community. ✨

This public art initiative is brought to life through the Tri-Party partnership of TIRZ 25, TIRZ 9, and the Five Corners Management District. Special thanks to Mayor Pro Tem Martha Castex-Tatum for her continued support in bringing projects like this to the community.
