Thank you to everyone who came out Friday night for the opening of Bria Lauren’s Rhonda’s Baby.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who spent the evening with us, shared conversation, and helped hold space for this powerful and vulnerable body of work. Through portraiture, storytelling, and installation, Rhonda’s Baby invites us into a meditation on Black motherhood, daughterhood, healing, and the possibilities of grace.

- [ ] A special thanks to the hard work of the artist, Laura & Rich Earle , and Ashley DeHoyos Sauder

🌹 Rhonda’s Baby remains on view through September 26.

Our very first Photo Booth Confessional features none other than Jacinto DeLeon.

Before You Weren’t There closes this weekend, we asked Jacinto to step inside the booth and share a confession. Some things belong in the gallery. Some things belong in the photo booth.

Catch the exhibition before it closes June 6 and keep an eye out for more confessions from Houston artists. 🎞

Join us for Rhonda’s Baby, a visual prayer by artist Bria Lauren, opening Friday, June 19th from 6–9pm at FLATS.

Through portraiture, arts activism, storytelling, multimedia installation, and community programming, Bria Lauren centers Black women’s interior lives, ancestral memory, Black mother-daughter relationships, and the dimensions of Black women’s relationships with one another while building infrastructures of radical care and liberation around their livelihoods and futures.

“Rhonda’s Baby is dedicated to Black daughters, loving and healing from Black mamas that don’t know how to love them back.” - Bria

Bria Lauren is a transdisciplinary visual artist, community architect, and Third Ward, Houston native. She is also the founder of Gold Was Made Fa’ Her (GWMFH) , a 501(c)(3) arts and healing movement for Black women and communities across the Black South.

Want to join the Film on Tap competition but don’t know how to develop film with beer? We’ve got you covered. 🍺📷

FLATS and Saint Arnold are making it easy to jump into the world of beer-developed film. We’re offering a special $25 Film on Tap day pass (normally $30) that includes access to FLATS’ community darkroom and everything you need to develop your film in beer—including the beer itself.

Never developed film before? Totally okay. We’ve created this walkthrough video, and we’ll also be hosting a hands-on workshop, on JUNE 5TH, to guide you through the process step by step.

Photography has always been rooted in experimentation, and this is your excuse to try something new.

Thank you to everyone who came out in the rain on Saturday and sang, drank, ate, and cried with us 💧🎤

It was such a special way to celebrate You Weren’t There by Jacinto Deleon and spend time with Britt Thomas’ interactive work, Peel & Feel Instant Tears. Seeing everyone engage with the exhibition through performance, emotion, karaoke, and community felt incredibly meaningful.

Big thank you to for the amazing food, .between for the matcha, for education, and everyone who helped make the night so memorable.

You Weren’t There remains on view through June 6 and you can use the Peel & Feels at FLATS’ photobooth
