NEXT: A Biennial of Contemporary Print ▫️

We are pleased to host this juried print exhibition, which is part of a premier contemporary print biennial. Organized by Print_Houston Houston, the showcase features 33 innovative printmakers from across the United States who redefine standard mediums through experimental materials, traditional hand-pulls, and contemporary narratives.

The exhibition was juried by Phil Sanders, an acclaimed master printer, author of “Prints and Their Makers”, educator, and founder of the creative consultancy firm PS Marlowe.

Opening reception: this Friday June 18th 6 — 8pm

We also invite you to join us for Mr. Sanders juror’s talk on Saturday, June 20, 1:30-2:30 PM.

We welcome Phil Sanders as the juror of NEXT 2026. Phil is the Founder/Director of PS Marlowe, a creative services consultancy firm based in Asheville, NC. He is a leading collaborative master printer with over 20 years of experience educating, lecturing, and advocating for prints and their makers. He is the author of “Prints and Their Makers” an in-depth look at contemporary prints and practices and the collaborative process between the master printer and artist.

This exhibition showcases artists from around the United States who are pushing the boundaries of printmaking techniques and materials by creating innovative and challenging works alongside traditional printmakers dealing with contemporary subjects. Featuring lithographs, relief, intaglio, monotype, and screenprints.

We had a child friendly gathering for Mother’s Day this morning. Mom’s received a rose stem and children were given a bag of art material. One of the most engaging audiences I’ve ever seen at an artist talk! All except one of the questions came from the kids…It was a wonderful moment.
