This local oral history project is coming to a completion this summer. Oral history projects are a way to add voices to our archival memory which have otherwise been left out. If you or someone you know would like their story to be added to this collection, which will be archived locally at the W.E.B. DuBois Library and nationally at the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, the contact information is below.

Friends, followers, and advocates, I am planning to complete the oral history project this summer! I have interviewed 31 veterans for the Incarcerated Veterans Project so far, but I am searching for more veterans who’ve been involved in the criminal justice system who would be interested in sharing their experiences with the project.

If you know anyone who might be interested, please share. Message me or email.

Thank you for all the support!

Hidden Legends

Make sure to check out this new project by the Pa'lante RJ students at Holyoke High School. Hidden Legends is the end result of a lot of hard work by the students in an effort to improve our shared understanding of the past.

"Pa’lante’s student leaders conducted rigorous research throughout the school year through interviews, oral histories, literature review and archival research in an effort to illuminate the stories of the activists, organizers, and leaders on whose shoulders they stand. In May 2019, they held a packed event to induct the first 25 Legends into a permanent exhibit in the school, giving Holyoke High School students access to their histories and legacies for generations to come."
