The Volleyball Hall of Fame in Holyoke, Massachusetts – the birthplace of Volleyball is a not-for-profit institution dedicated to honoring those who have made outstanding contributions to this international sport and to fostering the appreciation of the historical development of the game by collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting its collections for a global audience.

The International Volleyball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend kicks off on Friday with the prestigious Mayor’s Reception hosted in our museum!

On October 1 we celebrate the birthday of the legendary Danielle Scott — a 2016 IVHF inductee and one of the most accomplished middle blockers in the history of USA Volleyball! 🇺🇸🏐

The first American — male or female — to compete in five Olympic Games in volleyball, Danielle represented Team USA at every Games from Atlanta 1996 through London 2012, earning back-to-back silver medals in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

Across a 19-year international career and more than 420 matches, she was named Best Blocker at the 2002 FIVB World Championship and represented the U.S. in four World Cups, three World Championships, and 11 World Grand Prix tournaments. In 2007, she had the honor of carrying the U.S. flag at the Pan American Games Opening Ceremony in Rio de Janeiro.

Since retiring and being enshrined in the Hall of Fame, Danielle has continued to shape the future of volleyball — currently serving as Head of Pro Talent Acquisition for League One Volleyball (LOVB), drawing on nearly two decades of international experience to recruit elite talent and build sustainable professional opportunities for athletes closer to home. She also remains active as a coach, mentor, and speaker, sharing lessons in leadership, resilience, and high-performance sport with the next generation.

🏐 IT’S MATCH DAY IN LAS VEGAS! 🏐

The International Volleyball Hall of Fame is proud to present the 2026 Clash of Champions, taking place TODAY at Bishop Gorman High School!

Some of the nation’s premier high school girls volleyball programs are coming together for an incredible evening of elite competition (all match times PT):

🏐 3:30 PM — Marymount vs. Marin Catholic
🏐 5:30 PM — Xavier College Prep vs. Archbishop Mitty
🏐 7:30 PM — Bishop Gorman vs. Mater Dei

🏆 A Hall of Fame finish to the evening:
At the conclusion of the event, 2011 International Volleyball Hall of Fame Inductee Magaly Carvajal will present the team and individual player awards to this year’s participants.

A special THANK YOU to Bishop Gorman High School and its volleyball community for coordinating and hosting this year’s event. We’re grateful for your partnership in bringing the Clash of Champions to Las Vegas!

On September 13, we celebrate the birthday of the legendary Ivan Miljković — a 2025 IVHF inductee and one of the most feared attackers in volleyball history! 🇷🇸🏐

One of the most dominant opposite hitters of his generation, Miljković helped lead Yugoslavia to Olympic gold at Sydney 2000 and European Championship gold in 2001. A decade later, he captained Serbia to another European title in 2011. He was named MVP at both European Championships and collected numerous MVP, Best Scorer and other individual honors throughout his remarkable international and club career.

Miljković captured the 2001–02 CEV Champions League title with L**e Macerata and won national championships in Italy, Greece and Türkiye. His sustained excellence, powerful attacking and ability to deliver in the biggest moments established him as one of the premier opposite hitters in the sport’s history.

Since retiring, Miljković has remained active in sports leadership. He served as First Vice President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia from 2016 to 2018 and has chaired the Athletes’ Commission of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, continuing to advocate for athletes and represent Serbian sport beyond the court.
