🏞️ Capturing the beauty of Alaska wil For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to nature and wildlife.

Growing up in Minnesota I went to the woods to experience wildlife and to learn and explore. That was the beginning of my journey to understand and experience nature. About 30 years ago I discovered photography and over time realized through photography I could share my love of wildlife and the natural world with others. Today over nearly half a century later, with half my life lived in Alaska, I

am still on that mission quest. As a photographer in Haines, in South East Alaska, my goal is to visually capture the spirit of an animal, bird or the natural scene and communicate my vision providing images that create a sense of wonder, awe and understanding, and sometimes the comedy of the natural world. I try to place the viewer in the environment or the moment. I am truly passionate about communicating the beauty of wildlife in its native environment. Too often many people only have visions of animals in zoos. My hope is that people will come to appreciate the wonderful beauty and complexities of nature and help preserve it.

Interior designers often talk about sightlines. They're the natural path your eye travels when you enter or move through a room.

Most people never think about this consciously, but they feel it. Art placed directly in a sightline changes a room immediately.

Placement is as intentional as the work itself.

A lot of people hold off on collecting art because they rent and feel uncertain about committing to walls they do not own. But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you.

Renting is not a reason to live with bare walls. It is a reason to collect work that matters enough to keep moving (and growing) with you.

"Finished with breakfast" and my other work are connected to the people who love them, not just the places they're displayed.
