Have you ever wanted to take a step back in time?
Well, gentle reader…in Guthrie, Oklahoma, you can.
No time machine required.
Guthrie is home to one of the most remarkable collections of historic architecture in America, with an entire historic district featuring more than 2,000 buildings constructed during the city's incredible boom years.
Walk through downtown Guthrie, and you are surrounded by history at every turn.
And standing proudly among those historic treasures is the State Capital Publishing Museum.
Four stories tall and approximately 50,000 square feet, she's a hard lady to miss.
In fact, she is the largest standalone historic building in downtown Guthrie.
Now, on the residential side, that honor belongs to the magnificent , coming in at around 8,000 square feet.
Madam…
We tip our proverbial hat in your direction. 🎩
But preserving a building like ours is no small task.
Imagine 144 windows.
Floors upon floors of history.
Massive antique printing presses and machinery that helped tell the story of Oklahoma.
A building where, from the second-floor balcony, the announcement of Oklahoma Statehood was made.
History like this doesn't preserve itself.
Here at the State Capital Publishing Museum, we are working to save this incredible building one floor, one window, and one antique machine at a time.
But here's the truth, gentle reader…
We can't do it alone.
And that's where you come in.
On November 5, 2026, we invite you to join us for our 4th Bi-Annual Gala & Auction — A Night for the Museum: Beyond the Pressroom.
