Today in Masonic History!

On June 4, 1874, a pivotal moment unfolded in Caddo, Indian Territory, when three lodges—Caddo Lodge No. 311, Flint Lodge at Stilwell, and Oklahoma Lodge at Boggy Depot—convened to establish the Grand Lodge of Indian Territory. This significant event laid the foundation for what would eventually become the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the State of Oklahoma.

This date marks a cornerstone in our Masonic heritage, reflecting the enduring commitment of our brethren to unity, leadership, and the advancement of Freemasonry in Oklahoma.

Let us honor the legacy of those who came before us and continue to uphold the principles they so steadfastly established.

On May 14, 1909, the cornerstone was laid for the original Guthrie Masonic Temple, which would later become part of the famed Scottish Rite Temple complex. This monumental building project symbolized the growth of Freemasonry in Oklahoma following statehood in 1907.

The Guthrie Scottish Rite Temple remains one of the largest and most architecturally significant Masonic buildings in the world. Its cornerstone ceremony, attended by hundreds of Masons and dignitaries, was a powerful display of fraternity, faith, and dedication to the Craft.

Proud of our Oklahoma Masonic heritage!

TODAY, December 27th, we celebrate the Feast Day of St. John the Evangelist, but why is he and Saint John the Baptist so important to Freemasons, so much that they're known as the patron saints of ?

For one, they're regarded as one of the patron saints of Freemasonry due to their association with the values of Masonry. Freemasonry places a strong emphasis on moral integrity, brotherhood, and the pursuit of knowledge—qualities that the saints John symbolize.
