Thank John Kucko for endless support of our group. Beautiful work.

A Day To Remember: An amazing experience today to be afforded the privilege to fly on Whiskey 7 on this 76th anniversary of D-Day. A few takeaways from an experience I’ll never forget:
1) I can’t imagine what it was like for the young men who were on that very same aircraft 76 years ago today as it brought them to Normandy. The fear, the bravery—it’s hard to comprehend.
2) Today’s mission, orchestrated by the terrific folks at the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo, NY, was for the healthcare personnel and essential workers throughout the region and, really, everywhere. These last three months have been unimaginable and you’re the ones who helped guide us through it—and still continue to do so.
3) I realized something I already knew. We live in an absolutely gorgeous part of the world, with lush rolling hills and blue Finger Lakes everywhere. Flying at 2800 feet all day gave me a perspective I hadn’t experienced before—and it accentuated the obvious: that we are truly fortunate to live where we do. These are a few captures from my ride with the last one being over Cornell University in Ithaca. What a day!

Our safety briefing is done and the crews are beginning to preflight their airplanes! We have a BEAUTIFUL day for the flyover! 😎

We've had many questions about this beautiful RV 10 that many will see fly alongside today's formation. This airplane is a photo ship and is charged with taking the stunning air to air photos of the formation that you will see online today!

This mission wouldn't be possible without our generous donors, we want to thank them once again for their support! We are very excited for tomorrow and before take off, just want to share an important safety announcement with you! W-7 will be flying at a legal and safe altitude giving everyone a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of a C-47.

In this day and age of drones we would like to respectfully ask that you do not fly drones near W-7 during the flight path over the Southern Tier of New York.

Safety is paramount in this “fly over” and operating drones near an aircraft can create a very serious situation to the people onboard and
those on the ground. There have been some close encounters during some of the recent military fly overs which could have resulted in catastrophic results.

So, please for the safety of all involved refrain from use of drones near W-7 during “Operation! Thank you and enjoy!

Work on the C119 Flying Boxcar this past fall included quite a bit of prepping and painting of the engine cowls. For this coming spring, we have a long list of both exterior and interior projects. Included in that list is the cockpit which, if we're fortunate, will be in great shape by the time of the 2020 airshow.
