We recently shared photos of the B-17 Sentimental Journey's most recent visits to Geneseo, NY. She brought a special guest alongside in ‘97 and ‘00 - the Heinkel He 111 (CASA 2.111.) 🤝

Both CAF bombers graced the Genesee Valley with their presence during those airshows. Highlighted was the rarity of these bombing foes sharing the skies over 60 years after they indirectly faced one another.

Hosting the He 111 was a real honor. The passage of time and unfortunate loss has made us only more grateful for this track on Geneseo’s Greatest Hits. 🙏

Here's a story for you!

This de Havilland DH.82 TIgermoth is a frequent visitor to our Geneseo Airshow. Based in Ontario, Canada, the owners are great friends of our museum. This Tigermoth is named 'Marilyn,' after our dedicated volunteer Marilyn Cleveland.

In 2014, the plane made it's first post-restoration trip to Geneseo to surprise Marilyn - and it's come back nearly every year since! We miss Marilyn, but her legacy continues to fly high.

The turf of Geneseo, NY is quite used to accommodating British fighters from World War II - especially the Hawker Hurricane. 🌀

In the 80s and 90s, the Canadian Warplane Heritage would bring their CCF built Hurricane Mk 2B to our show each year. In the 00s, the Russell Aircraft Group’s Mk. XII would frequently attend the Greatest Show on Turf - with our own pilot Rob Gillman at the controls. 👍

Is there anything more natural than an RAF/RCAF fighter flying from a grass airstrip? Take a trip to that era in our time machine this summer! ✈️
