The Merwinsville Hotel's annual Orb Hunt is well underway. Stop by the Hotel at 1 Browns Forge Rd., Gaylordsville, CT today (Sunday, Aug. 9) from 2-4 pm and search for the one hidden inside. Also remember to get your passport stamped! There are glass orbs hidden at 26 locations in western CT. Good luck!

Orb hunters make sure to visit the Danbury Museum & Historical Society if you haven't already and get your passport stamped!

Calling all ! Our final clear orb of the 2026 Merwinsville Hotel Restoration Orb Hunting season will be hidden tomorrow (by 10 am) on our 43 Main Street campus. We do still have passports, too, if you are looking to get one for your orb hunting adventures.

Next week, the much sought after red, white, and blue orb will be hidden as the grand finale for our summer orb hunting. We’ll let you know the timing for that next week!

Looking for a fun way to see different historical sites this weekend? Join the Merwinsville Hotel's annual Orb Hunt. There are glass orbs hidden at 26 locations in western CT, including inside the Merwinsville Hotel, 1 Browns Forge Rd., Gaylordsville. Stop by the Hotel on Sundays in August from 2-4 to search and get your Orb Passport stamped. Good luck!

Have you found your hand blown glass orb yet? The Merwinsville Hotel's annual Orb Scavenger Hunt is attracting lots of participants! Thirty seven have been reported as found so far this year in one month. One orb is hidden inside the Hotel, which is open today to visitors from 2-4 p.m. Stop by and search!

Make sure to pick up your orb passport at one of the 26 participating organizations and get it stamped at each location you visit. Turn it into the Merwinsville Hotel and be eligible for the special 250th red-white-and-blue orb to be given Sept. 11. Please note that we ask participants to limit themselves to collecting ONE orb per family: To ensure fairness, participants must strictly limit themselves to one orb per person or family.
