Our Free Little Art Gallery next to the museum - designed by a beloved local artist using a vintage newspaper box - is part of a larger project spanning across several countries. It focuses on encouraging everyone to enjoy, create, and share art with each other.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Opening Reception and visited this weekend to see our current show, WATER FROM A ROCK, by interdisciplinary artist, author, and educator, Greg Lookerse!

When discussing the concept for his show, Greg says:

“In Teaching a Stone to Talk, Annie Dillard paints a poetic picture of a man who keeps a stone on his mantle. A stone which he is teaching to talk. In the Sinai desert water pours forth from stones twice, according to the book of Exodus. For time in memorial, humanity has set up stones as witness to their accomplishments and their foibles, from cairns to monolithic structures.

Water from a Rock is a collection of works that began with contemplations of these stories and more. After a decade I am still looking at stones. I am listening for their cries of ‘hosanna!’“
