LAST BREADMAKING CLASS OF THE SEASON
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5

The Volunteer Educators at De Immigrant Windmill in Fulton, Illinois, will be offering a BREADMAKING event at the Windmill Cultural Center, on Saturday, September 5. This is a multi-generational activity enjoyed by all ages and a great outing for friends wanting to share some time together.

Sign up for slots at 10:15, 10:45, 11:15, 11:45, 12:15 or 12:45. Walk-ins are welcome as well but people with reservations are prioritized. All guests will be able to use our stone-ground flour, mix it up, and knead it into dough. Approximately 20 minutes later, you have a fresh baked loaf of rye or wheat bread to take home and enjoy.

While you are waiting for your bread to bake we have a scavenger hunt available for you at De Immigrant across the street if you so desire or a tour of our collection of windmills, drainage mills, and sawmills at the Cultural Center. The cost is $5.00 per loaf. Call Pam 563-340-0809 or email [email protected] to reserve your spot.

What's wrong with doing a good thing twice? Nothing! Our next cottage baker is our first cottage baker - Dough Re Mi. They will be selling their baked goods outside of the Windmill Cultural Center on Saturday, August 1, from 9:00 to noon (or until sold out). Come for the breadmaking and stay for the sourdough!

MILLER PROGRAM on THURSDAY, AUGUST 6 at 6:00 PM
Clinton County Early Aviation History

The Volunteer Millers at de Immigrant in Fulton, Ilinois, would like to invite the public to a presentation by John Roland and Greg Obren on the history of early aviation in Clinton County. Roland and Obren will share their research about the first recorded flight on September 9, 1911, at the DeWitt Fairgrounds in a plane manufactured by International Aeroplane Company of Chicago, Illinois. The plane was to be piloted by Morris Rosebaum….

Come hear the rest of the story! They will also share stories of daredevil pilots buzzing and barnstorming in Clinton County and information on the first airport located in Lyons.

The program is on Thursday, August 6 at 6:00pm at the Windmill Cultural Center 111 - 10th Avenue Fulton, Illinois. The building is handicap accessible and the program is FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served following the presentation.

BREADMAKING EVENT ON AUGUST 1

The de Immigrant Windmill Area in Fulton, Illinois, will be offering a BREADMAKING event at the Windmill Cultural Center, on Saturdays August 1 and September 5.

This is a multi-generational activity that can be enjoyed by all ages. Sign up for slots at 10:15, 10:45, 11:15, 11:45, 12:15 or 12:45. Walk-ins are welcome as well but reservations take precedence.

All participants will be able to use our stone-ground flour, mix it up, and knead it into dough. Twenty minutes later, you will have a fresh baked loaf of rye or wheat bread to take home and enjoy. While you are waiting for your bread to bake, we have a scavenger hunt available for you at De Immigrant windmill (across the street) if you so desire or a tour our collection of windmills, watermills, and saw mills at the Cultural Center.

MILLER PROGRAM - JULY 16 at 6:00 PM
RIVER CITY MUNICIPAL BAND

The July 2026 Miller Program at Fulton’s Windmill Area will take place outside on Thursday, July 16 at 6:00 PM.

The Volunteer Millers are sponsoring an evening of patriotic music by the River City Municipal Band under the direction of Patrick Brooks. The event will be held outside in the shadow of De Immigrant Windmill and the Windmill Cultural Center. Guests are requested to bring their own chairs.

Prior to the music beginning, the Volunteer Millers will distribute bags of flavored popcorn to the first 200 visitors. The popcorn is made by Jeff Witt at the Fulton Ice Cream & Gourmet Popcorn Shop in downtown Fulton.

The popcorn and the event are free and open to the public.
