Ohio Railway Museum, we appologize it took this long to find ORM! If it was a snake it would have bit me several times. I'm almost embarrassed, I missed it when riding and moving #1 & 1/2 around.

The switch is in and fully ballasted! A huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers who helped complete this project just in time for National Train Day next Saturday!

In other news, our volunteers have begun removing the old carpet in the library building. It had definitely reached the end of its life, so it will be great to have new flooring installed once the project is complete.
This is just one of many improvements happening around the museum campus. If you’re interested in getting involved and volunteering, let us know—we’d love to have your help!

Our track gang was hard at work again today, installing the remaining ties for the switch and spiking down the rails. There’s still more to do—we’ll be ballasting and leveling the new track next.
We’re looking for additional volunteers later this week to help move the project forward. Work days will be Thursday through Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM each day.
If you’re interested in helping out, please let us know—we’d love to have you on the crew!

We couldn’t have done it without you!
There’s still more work ahead, and we’ll be back at it tomorrow from 9 AM to 6 PM. If you’re able, come join us and be part of keeping this project moving forward!

We’re still looking for additional volunteers to lend a hand with this important project. Whether you have experience or just want to help out, we’d love to have you join us!

Yesterday, volunteers Johannes Beazell and Murphy Zane Jenkins-Henson installed a brand-new deck on one of our M.O.W. flat carts. This car will be ready for use during our upcoming Track Work Weekend
on April 25–26.
We’re still looking for additional volunteers to help rebuild our carbarn lead switch. This switch is critical, it allows us to safely pull the trolley out for operation and public rides.
If you’re able to lend a hand, we’d greatly appreciate your help as we continue restoring and improving our trolley museum!

Yesterday, we shared our April Fools’ announcement about a light rail line connecting Fort Smith to Northwest Arkansas. While it was all in good fun, it was truly exciting to see how many people expressed genuine interest and support for expanded rail service in our region. This also including enthusiasm for extending our existing streetcar line. It’s a great reminder that big ideas often start with community passion!
As many of you know, the museum has been working diligently to reverse nearly a decade of neglect. Thanks to the dedication of our new leadership team and volunteers, we’ve made significant progress in restoring track, repairing our historic trolley cars, and improving and cleaning the overall property.
The strong community response has been incredibly encouraging, and we invite you to be part of making these possibilities a reality.
We have several track work weekends remaining as we complete the rebuilding of our current line. Once that work is finished, we’ll be able to shift our focus toward future expansion.
Our next track work weekend is scheduled for April 25th and 26th, from 10:00 AM until sundown each day. Volunteers are welcome to join for any amount of time—no prior experience is necessary. We’re happy to teach and work alongside anyone who wants to contribute.
We hope to see you there!
