"I create art because I have to, it's my reaction to the world that surrounds me; specifically, to individuals close to me. It is a relentless urge to translate personal experiences into tangible forms; my creations are my innermost thoughts and feelings. My decisions in art are not haphazard or left to chance, but are carefully thought out actions that attempt to connect/portray complex moments. I want each piece to convey a story that requires thoughtful analysis. The meaning behind these expressions are ever evolving as I experiment with different media and subject matter. "

Says the Artist, "This piece is part of my Tide Pools series, inspired by the tide pools of La Jolla, California. I was captivated by how these natural spaces reveal hidden beauty when the water recedes—just like life does during our quiet, low moments.

I continue to work in mixed media, combining layers of texture and amate paper—an ancient bark paper from Mexico. Its organic feel connects deeply with my themes. The stitches you see, made with thread, are a signature element in my work. They represent emotional wounds—visible, raw—but also in the process of healing. Each thread is a quiet act of mending.

Tide Pools are a metaphor for resilience. They remind me that even when the tide is low, there’s treasure waiting to be discovered within ourselves. 🌊"

"Ever since I can remember, My life has been surrounded by art. I believe art is a powerful tool of expression; It's a way to share your inner emotion. How the environment affects us and how I can transform all the images and experiences into a creative process.

Being a fine art and mixed media artist allows me to use a kaleidoscope of techniques that allow me to transform everyday and unusual elements into art pieces and mixed media compositions. My art work represents a tropical vitality through strong colors and in most cases the presence of nature and landscapes."

Florencia Clement de Grandprey (Spain)

"Born and raised in southern Spain, I’m the daughter of an American mother and a French/Italian father, living and working in Fort Lauderdale, FL, since 2004.

I’m a self-taught mixed media artist, whose mission is to empower and inspire through positive and meaningful artwork. My artistic adventure began in late 2014, when I quit my full-time job in interior design to pursue my real passion: painting.

Because I didn’t receive any formal art training, I have developed a style without rules, which gives me great freedom. I combine my love of the classic masters with contemporary design flair to produce mixed media paintings.

My style and media have definitely evolved over the last few years as I’m continuously exploring surfaces and materials…"
