It’s our second and final open house during Broward Attractions & Museums Month, and the doors to historic Fire Station 3 are open from 10 AM–2 PM.

If visiting the Fire Museum has been on your “we need to do that sometime” list, today sounds like a pretty good sometime.

Come explore Fort Lauderdale’s fire service history, see our historic apparatus and exhibits, bring the kids for some fire safety, and discover what’s behind those red doors.

September is flying by, but Broward Attractions & Museums Month isn’t over yet!

If you haven’t made it to the Fort Lauderdale Fire and Safety Museum this month, you have one more chance to visit during BAMM.

We’ll open the doors to historic Fire Station 3 again next Saturday, September 26.

We’re still amazed by the turnout last week.

More than 150 people stood with us for our 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, followed by more than 40 visitors at Saturday’s Open House.

Nearly 200 people came to remember, explore, ask questions, share stories, and connect with the history inside Station No. 3.

For a small museum run by volunteers, that means more than we can say.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the City of Fort Lauderdale, Fort Lauderdale Professional Firefighters Local 765, and The Chimney House for continuing to support what we do.

This is why we preserve the history. This is why we open the doors. And this is why we keep telling these stories. ❤️

Today marked 25 years since September 11, 2001.

This morning at the Fort Lauderdale Fire and Safety Museum, we gathered to remember the 2,977 lives lost that day, including 343 FDNY firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, 8 EMS personnel, and the 55 military personnel killed at the Pentagon.

Through a moment of silence and the ringing of the bell, we honored their lives, their service, and their sacrifice.

We also remember the first responders, recovery workers, military personnel, and others whose lives were forever changed by September 11, including those we have lost in the years since from 9/11-related illnesses.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning to remember and honor them.

25 years later, we will never forget.
