Camp Claiborne had its own refrigeration plant to produce and store ice for the troops in the field. These are two pictures of the ice plant before it was demolished. It is now a huge pile of rubble.
I do not remember where I obtain these pictures and I do not want to talk credit for someone else's picture.

These are pictures of 6 or 7 bunkers located on the northside of LA 112. There are several bunkers dug into the hillsides. These bunkers would have had a timber roof. To complete the roof a large amount of dirt would have been placed on top of the timbers to protect the bunker.

The West Camp Clairborne Service Club was located in the Engineer Unit Training Center area. It was a two-story building...

The West Camp Clairborne Service Club was located in the Engineer Unit Training Center area. It was a two-story building. The first floor was cut out of a hillside. If you have visited the West Camp Claiborne Officers Club, it was constructed in a similar fashion. I do not have any pictures of the service club, but hopefully some will turn up one day.
