The Children’s Museum of Findlay is a museum just for kids! Hands-on exhibits help children aged birth to ten years old learn all about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through a variety of activities tailored just for their learning experience! Our exhibits create a fun and safe learning environment where kids, their parents, and grandparents can all play together, make new friends, and learn new things.

☀️😊Today at closing, I noticed a girl who was helping clean exhibits. She was with her grandmother, who told me she was 12. She wasn’t helping to get something in return, or because she was being told to do so. She was just being kind.

I just wanted to thank this young lady. I didn’t get a chance to tell you in person, but your assistance did not go unnoticed. Kids your age often receive a lot of criticism; but you are an example of selflessness and respect. It may not seem like a big deal, but it was a huge help to me after a little bit of a rough weekend. So thank you - not just for helping out- but for being a great kid. 😊

Don't throw them away! 👟♻️

Those pairs of shoes your family doesn’t need anymore could do a whole lot of GOOD 😊

We’re on a mission to collect 100 BAGS of used shoes, and if we hit our goal, the Children’s Museum of Findlay receives grant funding! 💜💚

But that’s only part of the story.

👟 Your used shoes are collected and refurbished by a nonprofit.
❤️ They help provide shoes to people who NEED them.
♻️ They’re kept out of landfills.
💜 AND they help generate funding for YOUR Children’s Museum!

Kids’ shoes. Adult shoes. Sneakers. Boots. Sandals. Heels. Dress shoes. We’ll take them! (no roller skates or rollerblades)

Think about how many pairs are sitting unworn in closets all over Findlay and Hancock County right now. 👀 Let’s turn them into something GOOD!

Say hello to Lindsay Brown! 👋

Lindsay joined the Children’s Museum of Findlay Board of Directors in May and works as Assistant Director for Enrollment Marketing at the University of Idaho.

⛸️ When I’m not working…
You might find me at the rink! I coach ice skating with Silver Blades, Gliding Stars, and Learn to Skate. I also love to travel, and the Olympic Peninsula is next on my list! I love spending time at our cabin in Michigan, too.

Give me a good documentary about just about anything!

Almost anything… except self-help.

Thank you to everyone who has shoes to our ongoing shoe drive! We are on our way to filling 100 bags of shoes to be donated to individuals around the world!

We are collecting gently worn shoes (no holes), sizes infant to adult, all styles. Any contributions will help the museum raise money for exhibits and operations.

Remember, tomorrow, Saturday, August 22nd, is our "Kick off the School Year Event". Donate a pair of shoes and receive $1 off admission! We will also have a few bonus activities available, including a scavenger hunt and lacing lab.

🧹 YOU WIN: Clean out those closets and finally get rid of the shoes no one is wearing. (You know the ones. 😅)

💜 THE MUSEUM WINS: Your donated shoes help the Children’s Museum of Findlay receive additional funding to keep growing, improving, and creating more opportunities for play!

🌎 THE PLANET WINS: Gently worn shoes stay out of landfills and get another life.
