Through the dedication of our visitors, volunteers, and staff, our goal is keeping history alive through events, fundraisers, reenactments, etc. The Historic Village at Allaire (known as The Howell Iron Works in the 1830′s), was an iron producing, industrial village owned and operated by James P. Our museum opened in 1957 and is run by historic interpreters, school tour guides, performers, and vol

unteers of all ages. Our historic buildings include the Allaire Chapel, The General Store, Blacksmith’s Shop, Gardener’s Cottage, the Allaire Mansion, and more. Allaire Village, Incorporated is licensed by the State of New Jersey to operate the 40-acre, Historic Village at Allaire, the site of James P. Allaire’s Howell Iron Works Company in the 1830s. receives no state funding towards the educational programming presented throughout the year, but is strongly supported through private donations, membership fees, fund-raising events and patronage of our retail stores. received an operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State. Cultural Programs are made possible by a grant from the OceanFirst Foundation. The Historic Village at Allaire is located in Allaire State Park at 4263 Atlantic Avenue in Farmingdale, NJ, off Exit 98 of the Garden State Parkway and off Exit 31B of Interstate 195.
