FMSM has partnered with the Bell Museum of Natural History to distribute Science & Nature kits! They are designed for outdoor exploration by K-6th graders.

25 winners will each receive one kit.

Kayla and our amazing volunteers are ready lead you through a fun flower dissection activity. Did you know there may be as many as 300,000 kinds of flowering plants on Earth? 🪻🌺🌼 So many different flowers, but if you look closely, you can see their similarities. The MSUM Planetarium has lots of friends, but one of our closest is the Society of Physics Students here at MSUM. Guess what! They are putting on a demo show on the 23rd (in exactly a week!).

EnLIGHTening Physics! It will be about half an hour after the planetarium presentation at 12:30 so if you are looking for a way to spend your morning and afternoon, this will be perfect!

Our friends CANNOT wait to see you in ONE WEEK, in langseth 104.

🎉Today, we celebrate this irrational, infinite, non-repeating, and fantastic number! So, what is pi? Pi is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Regardless of the size of the circle, pi is always the same number. So, for any circle, dividing its circumference by its diameter will give you the exact same number: 3.14159...pi.

Oh, and bonus celebration today…it is also Albert Einstein’s birthday!
