🔧 WE’RE HIRING: MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST

This is a hands-on position that’s part mechanic, part boat engineer, part equipment operator, part carpenter, part fabricator, and part handyman. No two days look exactly the same.

In this role, you’ll work alongside our President, Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, and Grounds Crew to help maintain our buildings, boats, equipment, and grounds at Riverboat Discovery and Gold Dredge 8.

Responsibilities include:
• Construction, fabrication, and logistical projects
• Operating and maintaining heavy equipment
• Assisting with seasonal startup and shutdown of our facilities and Discovery fleet
• Maintaining shop tools, inventory, and supplies
• Tackling a variety of maintenance projects throughout the year

📅 Schedule
Spring & Summer: Busier season with weekends and overtime as needed
Fall & Winter: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts with a lighter workload

💰 Pay: $24–$28/hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for increases based on performance.

📣 We’re Hiring: Accounting Specialist

Riverboat Discovery is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our team!

This position plays an important role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly throughout the year, with responsibilities including accounts payable, reconciliations, QuickBooks, vendor accounts, financial reporting, and seasonal payroll processing.

We’re looking for someone who is organized, accurate, comfortable working with financial information, and ready to support a fast-paced seasonal operation.

💼 Position: Accounting Specialist
⏰ Schedule: 40 hours per week, plus overtime as needed. Schedule flexibility varies throughout the year based on seasonal demands.
💰 Compensation: $25–$30/hour DOE, plus the opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus of up to 12% of base salary.

Key responsibilities include:
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and account reconciliations
• Managing accounts payable and vendor accounts
• Processing payments by check, credit card, and ACH
• Tracking company credit card purchases
• Coding and recording invoices and receipts in QuickBooks
• Processing seasonal employee payroll
• Assisting with financial and month-end reporting
• Maintaining business licenses, reports, vehicle records, and insurance documentation

Each season, our departmental managers nominate one outstanding employee for the Godspeed Award—an honor presented to the team member who most exemplifies our mission.

The Godspeed Award recognizes someone who is a joy to work with, brings new ideas to the table, encourages those around them, and consistently goes above and beyond for both our guests and our team.

At this year’s End of Season Party, five employees were selected to represent Retail, Food & Beverage, Operations, the Office, and Gold Dredge 8.

Today was the last day of an incredible 2026 season. We want to thank every guest that rode aboard our trains, panned for gold, and learned about the history of gold mining in Alaska!
