The Arnot Art Museum is a landmark jewel of the art world in downtown Elmira, New York. Housed in the 1833 neo-classical Arnot family mansion, it is one of the last remaining private art collections formed in the 19th century still exhibited in its original showcase. Arnot added a picture gallery in the 1890’s and bequeathed his home and collection in 1910 to become the Arnot Art Museum, which ope

ned to the public three years later. A 1985 addition by Graham Gund Associates provides additional exhibition galleries. The Museum displays a Permanent Collection of 17th - to 19th –century European paintings, 19th- through 21st- century American art and collections of Asian and Egyptian artifacts. Temporary exhibitions highlight various aspects of the collections and include works from museums around the world.

𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞!

This is the final week to experience THREE AMERICANS. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to see this remarkable exhibition, be sure to visit before it closes, end of the day, this Friday, 15 May.

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗦: 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗼 | 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝘆𝗮𝗻 | 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻
Inspired by the landmark 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘴 exhibition series presented at the Museum of Modern Art between the 1940s and 1960s, the seventh installment of the Arnot Art Museum’s THREE AMERICANS series brings together three living artists in distinct solo presentations, thoughtfully united within a single exhibition framework.

The artists Bridget Bossart van Otterloo, NFN Kalyan, and Ileen Kaplan present diverse and striking aspects of contemporary life, taking the viewer on a journey that is contemplative, chaotic, curious, and beautiful. Examine the contrasts and connections between their unique artistic voices and discover how each artist offers a distinct perspective on the world we inhabit.

The Museum is hosting a Last Chance Salon and public closing reception this Friday evening 15 May, 5:30-7:30pm. Two of the three artists will be in attendance and presenting comments.
