We had the opportunity last Thursday to take lunch to ATFD thanking them for helping the museum with our sign. We couldn’t have done it without them! Thank you Connie Mault for sponsoring the lunch.

There are a few certain individuals we would like to express our huge appreciation to for bringing us where we are today, in a time of just three short years.

Nelson Bear rented us our first space, which was a small room at Arrow Accounting on Kiracofe. We held our first open house there on November 19, 2023.

Steve and Diane Hedrick rented us our second space, which was the former home of the Elida Health Food Store. A historic structure in its own right, built in 1892 by John Enslen. The Pioneer Committee (the group which planned the Pioneer Picnic every year) was organized in this building in 1895. We held our first open house there on October 20, 2024.

New Creation Lutheran Church donated the Trinity Lutheran Church property to us in February 2026. Excitement is the word I can use to best describe the wonderful event. We held our first open house at our new home on April 19, 2026. The Trinity Building has a deep connection with Elida’s past, being built in 1876 many events have occurred here over the decades. We would like to express our appreciation to Bob Lee, Pat Gross, and the entire New Creation Congregation. We are looking forward to the future opportunities and events that are in store!

Another big day at the Museum. We welcomed 175 Elida 5th graders and teachers into visit. They asked several good questions. We hope they learned a lot about the Village of Elida history. Thank you Mrs. Adcock for setting this up.

Edna (Holtzapple) Alspaugh, who was part of our Elida Old-Timers Interview that we filmed in April 2025, passed away in December 2025 at the age of 94. She was a Elida Class of 1949 graduate. She was laid to rest, beside her husband Harry, at Greenlawn in Elida.

Jace made a point to include her biography in our tour offered today, and her daughters, Trisa Patterson and Cheryl Moser were both in attendance for the tour. We would like to express our appreciation to the both of them for attending, and for the kind words about the tour.

Edna has been missed by many, but her story will continue to be told.
