It is very symbolic--named "Capitol View" in honor of the neighborhood it is facing. Do you know why it's called Capitol View? People living in the neighborhood (which sits on a hill) once had a clear view across the prairie of the Oklahoma State Capitol building in the distance!

Harry W. Clegern came to Oklahoma shortly after the 1889 Land Run. He began developing property in Edmond in 1903, but is most associated with the Capitol View neighborhood. Developed in four additions (1917, 1919, 1929, and 1938), Capitol View as a whole stretches from 2nd South to 9th Street and from Boulevard east to Rankin. Because the development was staggered over more than twenty years, a variety of architectural styles are present. Homes built in the first two additions near the north end were built in the 1910s and 1920s and reflect the popular styles of those decades (Craftsman, Colonial Revival, American Four Square), while those built in the last two additions to the south reflect the austerity of the 1930s and the 1940s homes built when materials were being rationed (mostly minimal traditional).
