It’s a SZA September! 🎶 We're counting down to our 18th Annual Induction Ceremony on September 24th by celebrating this year's incredible class of inductees. Secure your tickets for the Ceremony on our website, and learn more about SZA's rise to become a Grammy Award-winning artist below.

Born in St. Louis and raised in Maplewood, New Jersey, SZA is a seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter who has achieved global prominence for her introspective lyrics and unique genre-defying musical style. The Columbia High School alum has consistently shattered records, amassing more than 70 billion streams across all platforms.

Her 2017 Top Dawg Entertainment/RCA Records debut album, Ctrl, was a critical and commercial success that earned five Grammy nominations. Now RIAA-certified 6x Platinum, Ctrl made history as the first album by a female artist to remain on the Billboard 200 for 460 consecutive weeks. The project features the RIAA-certified Diamond hit "Love Galore" alongside numerous multi-platinum tracks.

SZA continued her historic run with her 2022 sophomore release, SOS, and its expanded edition, SOS Deluxe: LANA. Both debuted at No. 1 and spent thirteen weeks atop the Billboard 200. Currently 8x Platinum, SOS not only contained the RIAA certified Diamond hits “Kill Bill” and “Snooze,” it set a new record as the first album by a female artist to remain in the Top 10 for 100 weeks, surpassing Michael Jackson’s Thriller for the longest Top 10 stay by a Black artist in the chart's history.

With over 70 career wins, SZA's accolades include Grammy Awards for Record of the Year (“luther” with Kendrick Lamar), Best R&B Song (“Snooze” and “Saturn”), and Best Progressive R&B Album (SOS). She has also received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for “All The Stars.” Her 2025 co-headlining Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar stands as the most successful duo tour ever.

Jersey girls are known for being strong, resilient, and determined, and Governor Christine
Todd Whitman, the first woman to hold NJ's top elected position, is no exception! Her historic achievements broke barriers and became a defining moment for female leadership across the Garden State and beyond.

Happy Women's Equality Day! Governor Whitman will be officially inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame on Thursday, September 24, at the 18th Annual Induction Ceremony, joining the ranks of inspirational women, including: Lieutenant Governor Sheila Y. Oliver (2025), The Honorable Shirley Ann Jackson, Ph.D. (2025), Millicent Fenwick (2017), Elizabeth Cady Stanton (2014), and Alice Paul (2010).

It's Be Kind to Humankind Week, and we're sharing the heartwarming story of the Rorro family, a mother-daughter duo with an overwhelming dedication to helping others through healthcare, service, and the arts. Earlier this year, the pair nominated one another to become New Jersey Hall of Fame Everyday Heroes - here's a bit of their story:

Dr. Mary Rorro volunteered to play her violin for patients at hospitals while advancing music therapies for the terminally ill, and was named Chief Resident at Harvard Medical School.

Her mother, the honorable Dr. Gilda Rorro, has been a mentor in public service, an educator, and an ambassador and honorary diplomat for the Italian-American culture, inspiring generations.

Is there someone in your life who you consider your hero and has made an impact in their NJ community? Nominate them as an NJHOF Everyday Hero!

"There’s a better way to do it; find it.” - Thomas Edison

Homeschooled, partially deaf, and with limited financial means, Edison rose to become the man of the millennium, contributing more to society than anyone else in 1,000 years.

Presented by John Keegan, NJHOF Class of 2025 Inductee as well as President, CEO, and Chairman of both the Charles Edison Fund and Edison Innovation Foundation, Edison’s 2008 induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame is a reflection of his resilience and determination to achieve more than anyone expected of him.💡
