🚂🎉 What a fantastic day at the Bells ISD Back 2 School Bash! 🎉🚂

The Red River Railroad Museum’s Lil’ Katy had a wonderful time giving rides and helping families kick off the new school year with smiles, laughter, and a little railroad fun!

It was great meeting so many students, parents, teachers, and community members. We especially loved seeing the Bells High School cheerleaders and the Panther mascot climb aboard the Lil’ Katy for a ride—you won’t want to miss the video! 🐾📣

A big thank you to Bells ISD for inviting us to be part of such a great community event, and to all of our amazing volunteers who helped keep the Lil’ Katy rolling throughout the day.

We had some very special, extra-fuzzy VIPs stop by the Red River Railroad Museum to learn all about the historic Katy Railroad. From checking out the vintage signs to exploring the exhibits, they certainly brought a lot of color (and a lot of laughs) to the museum!

🚂 What a wonderful day at the Red River Railroad Museum!

We were thrilled to welcome the school-age summer campers from MasterKey Ministries of Grayson County, Inc. for a fun-filled visit to learn about Denison’s rich railroad heritage. Our young historians discovered how the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) Railroad helped shape our community and played a vital role in the city’s early growth.

The adventure continued with a tour of the historic Katy Depot, and the highlight of the day was watching a real train roll past—an exciting moment that brought history to life right before their eyes!

Thank you, MasterKey Academy, for spending part of your summer with us. We hope today’s visit sparked curiosity about our local history and inspired a lifelong love of learning.

DENISON, Texas (KTEN) - The Red River Museum celebrated a new chapter with its grand opening inside the historic Katy Depot, Saturday morning.
