The Revolution didn’t start or end on July 4th, 1776.

Hundreds of acts of protest preceeded the 4th of July, 1776. Most have faded from the headlines of history. A few are still famous today.

One of the most inflammatory and impactful was the Boston Massacre. In the fight, five men were killed. Paul Revere's famous print of the event is part of our nation's origin story. Come see an original copy of this piece of American history at Memorial Hall.

The founding of American wouldn't have happened without the Boston Massacre and the hunreds of other protests large and small that led up to the 4th of July, 250 years ago today.

Museum staff member: I’d love to, but these free tickets are one of the winners of our Brewing the Revolution Scavenger Hunt.

Parrot: Squawk! Free tickets? Wow! That’s incredible.

Museum staff member: Yeah, our friends at the zoo are so generous.

Parrot: Squawk! Can you ask if they’ll give me an extra bowl of parrot food?

Museum staff member: I’ll see what I can do.

Looking ahead to the nation’s looming 250th anniversary, Memorial Hall Museum curator Ray Radigan was looking for an unexpected window into the state’s history beyond the typical museum tricks. The answer was chilling in his fridge. “We wanted to look at how we’re telling the story of the Re...

It’s in the bag!

“It” is lots of swag from Tree House Brewing Company. And “it” is going home with one of the winners of our Brewing the Revolution Scavenger Hunt. We are jealous! Tulip glasses, gift card, stickers, coozies, and a very cool tote bag. Wow. Thank you Tree House!
