Brewing Massachusetts - How Beer Shaped the Bay State.
The exhibit will be show cased in the rebuilt 18th century tavern on 107 Main Street in the heart of Old Deerfield, MA until October 31st
From the Puritans to the present, no state has been more impacted by brewing than Massachusetts, and no event was more impacted by brewing than the Revolution. Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association will host “Brewing Massachusetts” an exhibition in a rebuilt Revolutionary-era tavern that tells this fascinating story and its long-lasting effects. It will feature rare historic objects and tell the stories of the men and women who made this history. This will be supported by a statewide “Brewing the Revolution” scavenger hunt, bringing people to historic taverns and sites across Massachusetts that connect brewing to the Revolution.
“Brewing Massachusetts,” a museum exhibit showcasing over four centuries of Mass brewing history. It will tell the story of brewing in Mass through rare artifacts, photographs, and documents.
The exhibit will be supported by an app-based “Brewing the Revolution Scavenger Hunt” that will take participants to historic taverns and beer- related sites across the state. Players will complete challenges to win prizes. The scavenger hunt will be free to play.
