TOTALLY OPEN: An International Open-Theme Exhibit Opportunity

Submission Deadline: November 22, 2026

TOTALLY OPEN is a call without a specific theme, an open search for what will result from a process of inquiry and curiosity through a reversal of process.

Utilizing a reduced entry fee to lower certain barriers to access, this call is TOTALLY OPEN—completely open to any work, any media, and idea, under the umbrella of “visual art”.

Includes an honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist, and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.

REGIONAL SHOWCASE: An Open Call to Artists in the States of OHIO, KENTUCKY, & INDIANA

Submission Deadline: November 21, 2026

This regional exhibit has no defined type, media, or style of work to be considered or selected. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual or experimental. The only criteria for entry is that works must qualify as works of visual art in the broadest sense of the term made by artists currently living in Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana.

Includes an honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist, and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.

"The glut of pictures, movies, adverts, news items and propaganda floods us in a constant stream. We can’t trust the truth of pictures, needing to parse and consider their veracity by weighing likelihoods and checking for tells of unreality."

PICTURE STORM is a call for works of art about multiplicity, reproduction, excess, archives, records, overload, and about how we navigate a world that feels overfull of visual information.

Includes an honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist, and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.

ARMATURE: A Call for Works About Structure

Submission Deadline: October 17, 2026

"Everything that must move, last, and live has a structure that supports it."

ARMATURE is a call for works about the skeletal systems that underpin everything: the sketches, blueprints, designs, the plans that must be sketched with forethought before a project can begin—the engineering of thought and form. This show will be about the evidence of such structure.

Includes an honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist, and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.

17th Annual MANIFEST PRIZE --- $10,000 AWARD

Entry Deadline: October 18, 2026

The MANIFEST PRIZE is an international competition and exhibit featuring one prize-winning, jury selected work, including a $10,000 artist's award. $1,000 in additional awards to finalists.

Works submitted must have been completed within the past five years (2021-2026), and the winning work must also be available for the exhibition period of early December through mid-January in order to be eligible. Open to works of any media, any genre/style, any size.

This special showcase of works made by our teen participants in the Manifest Drawing Center's 9th Annual Envision Project, instructed by Shannon Eggleston and Michael Wilson and sponsored as part of the FotoFocus 2026 Biennial, is now on view at our Central Parkway location.

PLEASE NOTE, hours are limited due to our ongoing renovation, but we've scheduled many options between now and October 30th to see the display.

FREE advance tickets are REQUIRED so we know when to have staff on site to welcome visitors and provide access to the showcase, and steer folks through the building. See ticket link below.

Available Viewing Dates/Times (WITH TICKETS):
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6 - 9pm
Wednesdays: 4 - 8pm
Fridays: 1:30 - 4pm
Saturdays: 11am - 3pm

Lastly a Public Reception for the students, their families, instructors, and the general public will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 5-7pm. (No ticket required).

Stop by Manifest Gallery to see our Season 23 opening exhibits—on view now through October 23, 2026!

The following fourteen artists from 10 states will have 52 artworks on display throughout all five galleries. Exhibits include THE SWEEP OF TIME: Beyond the Horizon (FotoFocus Biennial)*, UNBUILT TERRAIN (Patrick D. Wilson), READING FAST TO CATCH THE LAST LIGHT (Jerry Birchfield), BETWEEN VIEWS (Paho Mann), and AN ENTANGLEMENT OF SPACE AND TIME (Ricardo Barros).

Manifest Gallery is free and open to the public Tuesday through Friday from noon to 7pm, and Saturday, noon to 5pm.
