Enhancing the life of our surrounding neighborhoods through arts and cultural experiences

Kennedy Heights Arts Center was founded in 2004 by local residents who saved the historic Kennedy mansion (circa 1875) from demolition and transformed it into a thriving community arts center. Twelve years later, we transformed another vacant property, an adjacent former grocery store, into our 10,300 sf Lindner Annex and Studios. Serving a diverse audience of more than 5,000 people annually, KHAC

offers rotating art exhibitions, arts education programs for youth and adults, outreach programs in public schools and libraries, a youth jazz academy, and community events from cultural festivals to music concerts to poetry readings. 100 percent of our programs are accessible to everyone regardless of income.

You can find us at the 39th Annual Cincinnati Juneteenth Festival on June 20–21 at Eden Park, a two-day celebration of freedom, culture, and community.

We recently celebrated our annual Founders Day, an evening dedicated to recognizing the people whose leadership, generosity, and dedication help strengthen our organization and community.

We would like to once again congratulate this year's honorees:

🏆 Robert Ramsay, recipient of the Kennedy Award, for his longtime leadership, financial stewardship, and commitment to helping KHAC grow and thrive.

What happens when we invest in creativity?

This summer, 324 young artists are participating in 27 camps at Kennedy Heights Arts Center. They're painting, performing, designing, building confidence, making friends, and discovering new ways to express themselves.

Supporting them are 25 teen volunteers who are stepping into leadership, building confidence, and experiencing firsthand what happens when we invest in creativity.

But the impact extends far beyond a single week of camp.

Every scholarship helps create opportunities for creativity, connection, and belonging. It gives young people a place to explore their interests, develop their voices, and discover new possibilities for themselves.

We're honored to be one of the nonprofit partners featured in Art in Action 2026, a unique exhibition that demonstrates the positive impact art can have on our community.

This year, Kennedy Heights Arts Center has been paired with local artist Jay Wilford, who created an original work inspired by our mission. Art in Action brings together local artists and cause based nonprofits, with a portion of each artwork sale supporting the featured organization.

Created by 26 local artists in support of 19 nonprofit organizations, this inspiring exhibition highlights the power of creativity to strengthen our community.

Did you know the fox in our front yard has a name? 🦊✨

His name is Monty!

When a large oak tree on our front lawn had to come down, we saw an opportunity to transform something old into something new. Rather than removing the stump, we commissioned chainsaw artist and woodcarver Chris Rust to create a work of public art from it, and Monty was born.

Monty got his name thanks to Emilia Spangler, a young member of our community, who suggested it because the fox looks out toward Montgomery Road. We thought it was the perfect fit.

Throughout folklore and storytelling traditions around the world, foxes are symbols of creativity, curiosity, adaptability, and imagination. Standing proudly on our front lawn, Monty reflects the playful, inventive spirit of Kennedy Heights Arts Center and the artists, students, and community members who make this place so special.

Summer Camp starts next week at Kennedy Heights Arts Center, and we still have a handful of spots open in a few upcoming camps! ☀️🎨🎶

From stop motion animation and songwriting to ceramics and whimsical tea parties, this summer’s camps are packed with creativity, imagination, and hands on fun for young artists.

Upcoming camps with limited availability include:

🎬 Animation Antics
Ages 11–13
Create stop motion animations using paper and clay puppets while learning storytelling, character building, and set design.

🎵 Little Songwriters, Big Voices
Ages 5–7
Campers will explore rhythm, storytelling, and singing while creating original songs to share with family and friends.

🫖 Mad Hatter Tea Party
Ages 5–7
Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, campers will create ceramic teapots and saucers, design whimsical hats, and celebrate with a tea party at the end of camp.

Sliding scale tuition is available for families in financial need because we believe the arts should be accessible to everyone.

For more than 20 years, Barbara Bouldin has found creativity, connection, and community at Kennedy Heights Arts Center.

Her story is a reminder that creativity remains essential throughout our lives. The arts give people of all ages space to heal, grow, express themselves, build confidence, and find belonging.

This summer, more than 300 young people will walk through our doors for camp, while adults across our community continue discovering and rediscovering their creativity through classes and programs year-round.

Our scholarship campaign helps ensure that no one is turned away from creative opportunity because of financial barriers. Every contribution helps keep camps, classes, and arts experiences accessible to our community through scholarships and sliding-scale pricing.
