Are you a high school junior or senior in Cheyenne in need of volunteer hours for programs like National Honor Society or the Congressional Award? We want YOU to be our CCM NextGen-ers! 🫵💫

Paired with a CCM staff mentor, museum apprentices will dive into a real project of their own, build professional skills, and walk away with a portfolio of tangible work to show for it.

Apply for one of four roles:
🧑‍💼 Volunteer Engagement and Communications
🧑‍🎨 Digital Media and Marketing
🧑‍💻 Digital Experience and Technology
🧑‍🔧 Museum Experience and Operations

CCM NextGen apprentices are expected to volunteer approximately 5 hours per week or 10 hours per two-week period. This is a program built for learning and guided contribution! We can’t wait to invest in the next generation of museum professionals right here in our community! 🌟

When science and art go hand in hand…🤝

Last month at our first Weekend Art Lab, our young artists took on the role of water to make their own fluvial erosion landscapes 🌊 Using plaster on canvas panels and acrylic paint, they built 3-D pieces that show how water carves the canyons, valleys, and desert landscapes we see right here in Wyoming! 🏜️🦬

Everybody left with a one-of-a-kind masterpiece and a new appreciation for the geology in our own backyard, all guided by our Artist in Residence, Nate Reitzel.

🎨✨Turn your digital art into real-world gear!✨🎨

The second cohort of the Elevation Design Lab at the Cheyenne Children’s Museum kicks off on Tuesday, October 13, and only 6 seats are left! 🤯

In this 8-week intensive course for ages 11-18, students become professional designers using Adobe Fresco, led by our Artist in Residence Nate Reitzel. Digital files become custom stickers, t-shirts, prints, and posters, so students finish the class with their own portfolio and merch!

📆 Tuesday/Thursday, 5-7 PM
🏷️ $75 per student
💻 All classes will be available in Google Classroom in case you miss a session
