We’ve made ourselves at home since 1965, as Charlotte’s oldest nonprofit art gallery and organization. Since then, we’ve been paving a new landscape for the art scene—not your average ‘Poppies in the Park’ painting, but an authentic art experience for art lovers of all ages and backgrounds. CAL is a 501 (c)3 non-profit visual arts organization that relies on annual membership dues, studio rentals, donations, and grants to sustain its activities. We offer a unique mix of open working studios, classes, and community outreach programs along with a public gallery.

Come explore Intuitive Line Drawing with artist Joy Fanning, a fun and freeing way to let your imagination set the pace and discover what unexpected images want to emerge on the page.

By settling into a deeper state of awareness and letting go of preconceived ideas about art and design, you’ll follow your intuition and allow lines, shapes, patterns, and images to develop naturally. There’s no pressure to make something “right”—just an opportunity to experiment, create, and let your subconscious mind show up and show off!

This is a relaxed and encouraging class open to all experience levels. No previous art experience is required. You will learn how to connect with your uninhibited talents!

Join QCA artist and member Kelli Horne for a relaxed, self-directed still life session. Kelli will set up the still life, and participants are invited to draw, paint, and create independently in the medium of their choice.

This is not an instructional class, but an opportunity to practice, create alongside other artists, and spend some dedicated time making art.

Join us Saturday, October 24 for an evening celebrating local artists while raising funds to keep the arts accessible throughout our community.

Discover original works donated by emerging and established regional artists, with silent bidding, a special spotlight collection, opportunities to meet participating artists, and light refreshments.

Every bid makes an impact. Proceeds support Queen City Art’s community programs, workshops, and artists.

Come as you are—or make it a moment. There’s no formal dress code, but this is a masquerade! We suggest masks, festive cocktail attire, and your own creative spin are encouraged.

Come explore Intuitive Line Drawing with artist Joy Fanning, a fun and freeing way to let your imagination set the pace and discover what unexpected images want to emerge on the page.

This is a special event that combines our new brand reveal with a fundraising event that not only promotes, supports, and showcases your art and artist statement but provides much needed financial support to the ogranization.

The Fundraiser Event Party will be October 24th 5-8pm, 2026 where your art will be auctioned off to the attendents and anyone else in the world via our online auction portal. We hope that you can join us in-person at the gallery for a time of connection, conversation, and community celebration!

We welcome work in all visual mediums, and only highly encourage submissions created by of our QCA Artists and Members.
