Exposed
60 x 60
Acrylic on canvas

This painting has quietly transformed several times over the past few months.

Layers painted over, softened, pulled back, reworked. One of those pieces that kept asking for more until it finally settled here.

To me, it feels a bit like the view near Pebble Beach on a moody coastal morning.

But I always love hearing what other people see in a piece.

Which room do you love it in most?
Could you see it in your own space?

Currently available at Nicole Cromwell Gallery in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

"Carried in the Quiet"
60x30
Acrylic on Canvas

There’s a certain stillness that settles in this time of year in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

The sky softens, the horizon blurs, and everything feels just a little more held.

This piece was inspired by those "May Gray" mornings here in Carmel.

Not heavy, not sad… just quiet.

A piece that brings a sense of calm into a space…

This piece started out as a floral… which is why it’s called Peony Season.

Somewhere along the way, I felt pulled in a completely different direction.

I knew I wanted to keep the soft pink tones, but the piece kept evolving into more of a landscape.

Layer by layer, it slowly found its way here… and I couldn’t be happier with where it landed.

Change is good, don’t you think?

Our skies in Carmel-by-the-Sea have this soft pink glow, especially in the winter months at sunset.

It’s subtle, calm, and honestly a little magical. One of the many reasons I love it here so much.

I love how my paintings find their homes.

It doesn't always happen immediately, but often exactly when it's meant to.

This week, two pieces that had been seen and loved last year, finally made their way to their collectors.

One through a moment of recognition across homes and friendships.

The other through patience… Waiting for the right space to reveal itself.

It's a quiet reminder the connection to a piece doesn't disappear. It lingers. And when the timing aligns, it settles into the space it was always meant for and I love that.

I've always wanted the space to feel calm and peaceful the moment you walk in. A place where you don't have to rush... just take a breath and see what draws you in 🌊

There was a time in my life when pretty much my entire identity was being a nurse. And I’m so proud of that chapter ❤️

But retiring from the bedside didn’t mean I stopped growing. It meant I had space to explore parts of myself that were always there. You’re allowed to have more than one version of yourself in this lifetime. ♥️

Creativity is often dismissed as optional or indulgent. But for many people, it is how they regulate, process, and return to themselves. It's not extra. It's care for your soul.
