I named this piece "Always There" because it reminds me that even when life gets busy and I don't make it down to the shoreline as often as I'd like, the ocean is still there.

Available and waiting for me.

The coast has always been a place where I can clear my head, slow down, and reconnect with myself. There's comfort in knowing that it's there whether I visit every day or not.

Maybe we all need something like that. A place, a person, or a practice that reminds us we can return whenever we're ready.

This painting has quietly transformed several times over the past few months.

Layers painted over, softened, pulled back, reworked. One of those pieces that kept asking for more until it finally settled here.

To me, it feels a bit like the view near Pebble Beach on a moody coastal morning.

But I always love hearing what other people see in a piece.

There’s a certain stillness that settles in this time of year in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

The sky softens, the horizon blurs, and everything feels just a little more held.

This piece was inspired by those "May Gray" mornings here in Carmel.

Not heavy, not sad… just quiet.

This piece started out as a floral… which is why it’s called Peony Season.

Somewhere along the way, I felt pulled in a completely different direction.

I knew I wanted to keep the soft pink tones, but the piece kept evolving into more of a landscape.

Layer by layer, it slowly found its way here… and I couldn’t be happier with where it landed.

Change is good, don’t you think?

Our skies in Carmel-by-the-Sea have this soft pink glow, especially in the winter months at sunset.

It’s subtle, calm, and honestly a little magical. One of the many reasons I love it here so much.
