Wayne Gaydos long ago made a name for himself in the world of handcrafted string instruments. Did you know he’s added clay garden art to his portfolio? The Farmland, Indiana, artist finds that the malleable medium suits his evolving style as he ages. His work is characterized by careful craftsmanship and a commitment to environmental sustainability, with all materials sourced from Indiana businesses, fostering local traditions and practices.

“Indiana’s heritage is mostly about agriculture, and my art reflects that and the need to sometimes assist nature to make sure it's around for future generations,” he explains. Outdoor garden/patio lights attract moths that pollinate nearby plants, as well as toads. Bee hotels attract and encourage native, pollinating non-harmful bees to nest for next season. Bird feeders help the migrating birds feed. Find Wayne’s piece at Indiana Artisan Gifts & Gallery in the Carmel Arts & Design District.
