Had a lovely afternoon, shooting a virtual tour and photo session at Kuaba Gallery in Carmel. Specializing in Contemporary African Art - if you haven't been, you'll want to put this place on your list to visit in the Carmel Arts & Design District
🖼️🎨Meet Jayne During of Kuaba Gallery, located in downtown Carmel. She's a native of Ghana and was recently featured in Martha Stewart magazine for selling works by famed Nigerian artist Chika Idu. Now that's a huge deal. Congratulations, Jayne! 📸: Second photo = "Celebrating Nature" by Christine Drummond.

Jayne During, owner of Kuaba Gallery (Carmel), is featured in the Visit Indiana campaign. Her gallery focuses on Contemporary and African artists. “I think that every artist, when they are creating, they are giving a piece of their soul to us." visitindiana.com/incrowd
Jayne During of Kuaba Gallery likes to fly by the seat of her pants to find new, diverse art to introduce to the community.
Chika Idu and Dominic Benhura are featured in the "Nine Black Artists Creating Incredible Things for Your Home" article on Martha Stewart's website!
Both artists' artwork can be found in our very own Kuaba Gallery in the Arts & Design District. 💕
It's the official month of love! 💕

See you on February 13 for the Meet Me on Main event!
In preparation for Meet Me on Main Saturday July 11th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. we talk with Jayne During from Kuaba Gallery at 404 W. Main Street in Carmel.
West African artist Patrick Tagoe-Turkson spoke with our Lower, Middle, and Upper School students today about his process and artwork. He works with found objects—mostly flip flops left along the beaches of Ghana—and turns them into beautiful pieces of art.
You can view his exhibit at Kuaba Gallery in Carmel, opening Friday, November 1.
Thank you for visiting, Patrick!

"Patrick Tagoe-Turkson uses flip-flop debris collected from the beaches of Ghana to create works that cleverly play with the tension and tales between the mundane and the beautiful. These flip-flop masterpieces have been exhibited both locally and internationally including Cape Town, South Africa Frappant Gallery, Hamburg, Germany, Centre d'Heberement des Perrierres, Dou-en Anjou, France, Out of Africa Gallery, Sitges, Barcelona, and dozens more." -Kuaba Gallery
