Our mission is to honor American Military Aviation through flight, exhibition, and remembrance. Our Mission: To Educate, Inspire, and Honor through flight and living history experiences. The Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force
The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is an all-volunteer organization, with members from all walks of life, dedicated to preserving the history of WWII airc

raft for generations to come. The CAF is a non-profit 501(c)3, privately funded and totally self-supporting organization.

“A generation which ignores history has no past, and no future” – Robert Heinlein. The CAF was founded to acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition a complete collection of combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States, and selected aircraft of other nations, for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans. More than just a collection of airworthy warplanes from the past, the CAF’s fleet of historic aircraft, known as the CAF Ghost Squadron, recreate, remind and reinforce the lessons learned from the defining moments in American military aviation history. Would you like to be a part of this great mission? Join the CAF with an honorary rank of colonel and help keep these magnificent aircraft flying. This is our creed and more. It’s who we are, what we do and why we do it. Help history soar!

TOMORROW, 5/30! While there won’t be an F-35, there WILL be two Royal Navy F-35 pilots talking about what it was like to fly and integrate the F-35! Our Spitfire will also be there!

Present will be Royal Navy pilots Commander Stephen ‘Lothar’ Collins, Officer Commanding the 17th Test and Evaluation Squadron (TES) at Edwards Air Force Base, and Lieutenant Commander Mark ‘Hux’ Huxtable, 17 TES Test Pilot. Lothar and Hux will regale us with stories of modern UK F-35B carrier ops, the Royal Navy’s Carrier Strike Group ‘21 cruise, and an F-35B ejection off the carrier (by one of our presenters). They’ll also discuss F-35B Test activities. Weather, maintenance, and operations permitting, you’ll get to see one of our T-6s fly too!

So, mark your calendars to hear two Royal Navy pilots talk about Royal Navy F-35B operations and test activities in the summit of high-performance military aircraft!

It will be on Saturday, May 30 at 11:00 AM at our hangars:
455 Aviation Drive, Camarillo CA

We were honored to participate in ‘s Memorial Day commemorations today — our PBJ-1J Mitchell performed a flower drop at the end of the ceremony!

Let’s take some time today and remember those that gave it all for the comfort and freedom we enjoy today. Without their sacrifice, the world would be a different place. 🌹

81 years ago today, World War II in Europe came to an end. Nearly 40 million people perished, including millions and millions of civilians. The struggle of power over the new global order in its aftermath led to the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union.

Here, our Messerschmitt Bf 108 D-1 Taifun flies in formation with C-47 . Our Bf 108 was one of the last ones built in Regensburg, Germany before production moved to occupied France. It served in an unknown German unit in World War II before its capture by the British in Berlin around this time in 1945.
