The WFVZ Bird Museum’s 70th Anniversary Party this past weekend was wonderful! It was a beautiful evening at Camarillo Grove Park filled with laughter, good food, a silent auction, and fellow bird-lovers! Thank you to Famous Taco Bar🌮 for their delicious tacos and Doris Bakery Panaderia for their amazing cake, and thank you to everyone who donated items for our silent auction! We would also like to give a big thank you as well to everyone who came to support the Bird Museum. We truly appreciate your support and are so glad we could spend the museum’s 70th anniversary with you all!

This Greater Roadrunner (Geococcyx californianus) nested inside of an office building, in a mission-themed diorama! Unfortunately, the eggs did not hatch, and the nest, along with the eggs, were donated to the museum. Starting this week, you can visit the museum and view this incredibly unique nest! Click the link in our bio or see our website to book a visit to the museum to see this nest as well as our thousands of other displays of eggs, nests, and taxidermy birds!

And don’t forget that the Bird Museum’s 70th Anniversary Party is THIS SATURDAY, from 5pm to 7pm in Camarillo. Visit our bio or website for more information and to get your tickets!

She is collecting samples of fungi from a large diversity of the museum’s bird nest collections to identify the species of fungi and to understand why certain bird species use the fungi in the lining and structure of their nests.
