Watch as Heather, a WFVZ Bird Museum curatorial and field research assistant, shows off some rare eggs from our collections and talks about the history of them! If you’re interested in seeing more of our specimens at the Bird Museum, you can book a visit with us at wfvz.org/public-tour. If you’d like a deeper look into the collections, you can book guided tours for groups of five or more! The Bird Museum is open Tuesdays-Fridays, 10am-3pm and Saturdays, 10am-2pm. Come on a walk to the WFVZ Bird Museum with me! The museum is located at 439 Calle San Pablo, in Camarillo, California. With over 58,000 taxidermy birds, 20,000 nests, and a million individual eggs, you're bound to be amazed! We are open Tuesdays-Fridays from 10am to 3pm and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. Did you know that an estimated 2.2 million birds have already migrated through Ventura County this fall? If you would like to learn more about western migratory bird species and the phenomenon of migration, we will be opening the museum on the evening of Friday, October 9th from 5pm-8pm, so that you can learn about migrant birds through our mounts and specimens to practice your identification skills! Join us for an informal, self-guided workshop, during which you can also wander the museum to your heart’s content. Admission is $15 for everyone. Register at wfvz.org/wfvz-events or scan the QR code.
