Titled, “Let’s Go Bigger and Bolder (In Oil & Wax Medium)”… this workshop will expand your painting experience into a larger format in Oil/Cold Wax Medium! In this workshop we will go bigger and bolder- for a new experience with your abstract paintings in oil and cold wax medium. This workshop is for artists who have taken a previous workshop using oil and cold wax and have the basics down. We will explore art elements, mark making, color palette choices, and how to retain the excitement of painting big! This workshop will be challenging and fun, while helping you unleash your creativity as you “build” your larger paintings. Instructor Cindy Shaw is an award-winning professional artist, avid hiker and fly-fisher. She regularly paints outdoors “en plein air” on her various adventures throughout the Appalachians.

In her workshop, students will create mountain scenes that lead you through valleys and soar over ridgelines.
Learn how to set mountains down and back, providing depth and distance. Use composition, color and values that invite the viewer into the painting and visually explore the landscape.

Lisa Boardwine will be teaching… “Abstract Adventures” in Acrylic/Mixed Media”
June 9th through the 11th (10am-5 pm)

In this 3-day workshop experience, we will focus on how to kick start your abstract paintings in acrylic/mixed media! Learn how to create abstract paintings with texture, color and mark making to add depth and unique meaning to your work! Throughout the workshop, we will explore the tools, foundations and techniques used in acrylics/mixed media abstract painting. We will also be engaging in playful exercises to strengthen your abstract compositions with an emphasis on your personal artistic expressions. There will be daily demonstrations, individual instruction, and studio painting time each day.
