One of the best parts of this class is our location! Mountain Hugger Gallery is surrounded by incredible scenery. Just steps away you’ll find a meandering stream, the historic Mill Pond, families of geese, charming downtown Banner Elk, and countless beautiful scenes to practice your new skills. There is no shortage of inspiring subjects to learn from and capture with your iPhone. We’ll even spend part of the class photographing around the historic Mill Pond, putting what you’ve learned into practice in one of Banner Elk’s most picturesque settings.

BIG NEWS—MY iPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS IS HEADED TO FOX8!

The excitement surrounding my iPhone Photography Class continues to grow, and I believe it may be ready to go viral!

I recently had the honor of welcoming of FOX8’s in Greensboro Area ,Cindy Farmer FOX 8 to Mountain Hugger, where she attended my class and experienced firsthand how I teach people to move beyond ordinary snapshots and start creating incredible photographs with the phone already in their hands.

But that’s not all! Cindy also sat down with me for a personal interview, learned a few of my favorite photography secrets and joined me for a quick tour of the Mountain Hugger Gallery.

The entire feature is scheduled to air on the FOX8 Morning News in the Greensboro–Winston-Salem–High Point area on SEPTEMBER 15!

What began as a dream and a small local class inside The Gathering Room at Mountain Hugger is now getting some BIG attention—and I couldn’t be more excited!

I’m also excited to announce that I’ll soon be offering PRIVATE iPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES throughout the High Country! These classes will be available for community groups, neighborhoods, clubs, businesses and other private gatherings. I’ll bring the class directly to your group!

This is what can happen when you never give up on a dream. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share my love of photography with as many people as I possibly can.

ANOTHER WILD ADVENTURE WITH THE LEGENDARY JOHN FORBES—AKA
Gnome.

This area of the country is full of so many natural gems. I encourage you to explore

A past Outdoorsman of the Year, John is the ultimate off-trail mentor—a brilliant thinker, writer,historian, botanist and one BAD A$$ EXPLORER!

John has a way of pushing you past what you think your limits are, and this adventure was certainly no exception!

This time, we hiked seven miles through the wilderness, including four miles of “creek-whacking” straight up the gut of the river. Along our route, we encountered SEVEN beautiful waterfalls while scaling slippery rocks, crawling beneath fallen trees and navigating the unpredictable creek bottom—with plenty of slips and slides along the way!

It was rugged, exhausting and absolutely unforgettable. When you head into the wilderness with Gnome, you never quite know what you’re getting yourself into—but you know it’s going to be one heck of an adventure!
