Science met fandom at Dragon Con! Fernbank Science Center joined the fun at Dragon Con 2026, where our own Janetta Greenwood served as a panelist for “Sci-Fi in the Classroom” and “Learning Through Games.”

From superheroes and science fiction to gaming and comics, the conversations explored how pop culture can spark curiosity and create meaningful STEM learning experiences.

Because sometimes the best science questions start with… “Could that actually happen?”

Thank you to Dragon Con and the Diversity in Speculative Fiction & Literature Track for inviting Fernbank to be part of the conversation!

Join us for the next Cosmic Conversation as we explore The Stellar Dynamics of the Milky Way with guest scientist Dr. Sébastien Lépine, Astrophysics Professor at Georgia State University.

The evening begins under the dome with a 7 PM planetarium show, followed by a live scientist talk at 8 PM exploring the motions of stars and what they can reveal about the structure and evolution of our galaxy.

📅 Thursday, September 24
⏰ 7–9 PM
🎟️ $5 students with valid ID | $10 adults
🌠 Attend either experience or stay for both!
