A sneak peek into the studio of luthiers Kyle Landers of Kyle La and Phil Whitlock of Phil Whitlock. Have you always wanted to build your own banjo? Join Kyle and Phil for a 5-day intensive workshop in their studio here at Foundation Woodworks: Monday October 19- Friday October 23, 8am-4pm. You’ll learn the fundamentals of instrument construction, fretwork, power and hand tool usage, and stain and finish work. You’ll leave with a completed custom 5-string open back banjo, pictured at the end of this video. $2500 includes all materials. Pre-register through link in bio under “Classes.”

Thanks to all who came out to the studio for our beginner spooncarving class today! There was a great variety of designs, all from a single spoon blank. PS-did you know you can take home additional spoon blanks after class to keep experimenting? It’s the perfect activity for these long summer evenings! Our next class is Saturday, September 5th, link in bio for more info.

New class offering for August: handled charcuterie boards! Saturday August 29th from 9:30am-12:30pm: Design and create your own serving board made from local hardwood. This class is capped at five participants so be sure to pre-register soon if you are interested! Some basic woodworking experience is a bonus but not a requirement to participate. We also offer private group classes in spooncarving and charcuterie board making. Contact us via email or drop by during gallery open hours!

Want to join Foundation Woodworks? We currently have one medium private studio and a few bench areas available and are accepting rental applications! Have 24/7 access to a fully-outfitted shop space, office area, and kitchen and be part of a vibrant community of professional woodworkers. Our Saturday Spooncarving class is full but there are still spots available for Thursday March 19, 5-7:30pm! You can register by emailing us with your first and last name and phone number. 🎊March Spooncarving Classes🎊

We are starting Beginning Spooncarving classes at Foundation Woodworks and the very first one is THIS Saturday, March 14 from 10am-12:30pm! We have a few spots left for Saturday and 8 spots left for our Thursday, March 19th class from 5pm-7:30pm. No materials necessary, pre-registration required, details below ⬇️

*Learn beginning Spooncarving techniques using hand tools and leave with your very own hardwood spoon
*Saturday 3/14, 10am-12:30pm
