The Heritage Farmstead Museum (HFM) is the premiere living history site interpreting the Texas black-land prairie region in north-Texas. An American Association of Museums accredited institution, the HFM strives to offer a step into the past for people of many ages, interests and backgrounds. The museum is an institution of public service and is accountable to the public through government, self and peer imposed regulations. "I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know; the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve."Albert Schweitzer

Junior Historians took over the Young House last night for their monthly meeting- It was game night as members discussed the history of Parker Brothers, an American toy and game manufacturer. More than 1,800 games were published under the Parker Brothers name since 1883. Among its products was a popular game of the 1920's HOKUM- That was the featured game at this February meeting- FUN was had by all. The young historians took a walk over to the Farrell Wilson house and enjoyed the new 1920s exhibit as well- For more information on how you can become a Junior Historian click here:

Come check out the music room in the Farrell Wilson Home. This room is made to feel like you have stepped into Gertrude Stein’s literary salon. Stein welcomed artists, writers, intellectuals, and others to her home on Saturday evenings to discuss art, philosophy, literature, and politics. The guests would drink, smoke, and debate. Tours of the Farrell Wilson House begin promptly at 1:30pm. Come see our nod to the Lost Generation of the 1920s-

Did you know? There was a sharp rise in the consumption of confectionery during the 1920s, with an astonishing variety of new candies produced each year. PEZ - A peppermint-flavored candy was initially marketed to adults and advertised as a "friendly alternative to smoking." The candy came in a tin dispenser that resembled a cigarette lighter. Eventually, Pez
re-branded itself for children, offering fruit flavors and cartoon character dispensers. Come take a tour of our Victorian home and see the other innovations of "The Roaring '20s: A Decade of Prosperity, Progress and Promiscuity." Tuesday through Sunday at 1:30pm.

Greetings, Dawn McKinney, daughter of Raymond McKinney. Niece (x5 ) of Collin McKinney. I have a picture that may be of interest to you, however I am unable to attach to my post. If you contact me I will give you a copy
I was just across the street from you at a local business. As I came out, I heard the laughter of the kiddos from Summer Camp at the Farmstead as they played water games. What a simple but fun activity. Having summer fun in an historic environment... does it get much better?
