Nacen del Nopal features Hazhe Is | H A Z H E I S an artist born in Oaxaca City who has practiced printmaking for 12 years alongside painting & muralism.

Influenced by the street art that surrounded him growing up, Hazhe Is creates a dreamlike world inhabited by masked figures and ghostlike beings.

Herrera is a member of the Barro🏺Koo🐍 🙌🏻🎨 gallery and collective and has practiced printmaking for 14 years. He has participated in several national print portfolios, including CHOCOLATECUTLI, La Espina Dorada and Platina de Mole.

NACEN DEL NOPAL

A group exhibition of woodblock prints featuring 14 artists from Oaxaca, Mexico, presented by Movimiento Art.

From the Tobalá agave of the highlands to the carved leopard masks of the coast, “Nacen del Nopal” explores the symbols, landscapes, and traditions woven throughout the cultures of southern Mexico.

Moving between the spiritual and physical worlds, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the imagery, stories and protective figures that continue to shape the region.
