Alameda Museum Tour & Walk with Dennis Evanosky
Park Street from the Waterworks Tower

Saturday, July 11
at 2:30 pm

Join Dennis Evanosky for a history tour of museum displays.

John E. Nast took a photo from the tower of the Artesian Water Works on Park Street. He colorized it by hand, and displayed it at the 1893 World’s Fair in Golden Gate Park.

Dennis will take an up close look at this photograph and lead a walking tour to investigate what remains today and what now stands in some of the open fields in Nast’s photograph.

All of Alameda’s Libraries

Saturday, August 8
at 2:30 pm

Join Dennis Evanosky for a history tour of museum displays.

Alameda’s library system is as old as the city itself. It grew from a small set of books in a building near the Central Pacific train station, matured to occupy the “Library Block” on Park Street, and moved into the Carnegie library at the beginning of the 20th century. Dennis will discuss all this and unveil some of the interesting details he has uncovered.
