SAVE THE DATE!

Join us for the Opening Reception of "On Seeing" by artist Jackson Shoultz, November 7th from 6PM-8PM at 1117 Studios & Gallery.

Pause. Look Closer. See Differently

What happens when we pause long enough to truly see? Through photographs that explore the mundane, reveal the microscopic, and reimagine familiar subjects from unexpected perspectives, On Seeing challenges viewers to slow down and look beyond the surface. The overlooked becomes remarkable, the familiar becomes unfamiliar, and a new perspective opens up entirely new ways of seeing.

On Seeing is an invitation to curiosity, a reminder that wonder is not always found in distant places or grand spectacles, but often in the very things we pass by every day. Become close with the commonplace, find value in it, pause to take a closer look, and discover a new meaning in the ordinary things of the world at On Seeing.

Join us for the Opening Reception of "On Seeing" by photographer Jackson Shoultz, Saturday November 7th from 6pm-8pm.

Jackson Shoultz is a photographer, painter, and science communicator from Abilene, Texas. His art and writing are intended to provide unique perspectives into how we view, consider, and understand the world around us, from nature to emotion. Jackson primarily works from his studio at 1117 Studios and Gallery in Abilene, Texas.

Jackson’s artistic photography focuses on subjects of nature, and he is especially interested in capturing the “scale of nature,” photographing everything from towering trees to tiny microorganisms. Jackson’s scope spans numerous fields of view to push the boundaries of what we can see, appreciate, and understand, employing both microscopy and traditional photographic techniques. Jackson’s portrait and human form photography focus on capturing the raw human experience, highlighting the breadth and diversity of each person’s individual history, and the emotion, hope, and tenacity that is familiar to all.

In all his work, Jackson encourages others to:

Stop and take a moment. Investigate something new. There are entire universes beneath our noses. If we look a little closer, we can find a vast cosmos waiting to be explored.

Automotive Paintings with a West Texas Edge!!!

October 3rd, 5PM-7PM at 1117 Studios & Gallery

In "The Race: Silicon Prairie", SkyzEye presents expressive realism in oil, using photography as a backbone for vivid, emotionally charged paintings. Through bold color, nighttime atmosphere, and unexpected shapes, these works reimagine the familiar with cinematic energy and a distinctly West Texas edge.
