Paleo American Crafts Paleo American Crafts goal is to introduce America's fascinating distant past to the 21st Century. Although, I may have certain items in stock.

I recreate stone tools, knives, weapons, pottery and the everyday items used by Ancient Americans, from the days of the Mammoth Hunters through the Late Prehistoric. I do this through making and offering for sale items that our ancestors used every day. This is not a wharehouse or store where I have in stock items. Generally, I make items that I feel are important to present. It may be an item tha

t caught my attention, or perhaps an item that requires a certain skill or technical ability to produce that I wish to learn. And what I make, I offer for sale.

It's been so darn hot here in Texas, that I knap at night by the light of an old Coleman Gas Pressure Lantern.

Here's some of what I'm working on. Of course, by that very light.

Top is a biface. The next two down are preforms and the bottom two are finished Archaic Dart Points.

Just finished up some paleo work tonight. All Edwards Plateau Chert. All done with stone and bone.

Top one is a nice Rootbeer Chert blank. Next one is a preform. It was getting pretty steppy. I'll have to be careful finishing it.

The two below that are wafer thin preforms.

And the bottom one turned out nicer than I had planned. I was practicing up on my vertical punch work and didn't intend on even finishing it.

Finally got to do some knapping today. Despite the 100+ degree heat. And a bad back! I got a preform done. And I'm happy...
