The Arab Network @ Singapore (AN@S) is proud to have hosted our 16th Education Awards Ceremony on 8 August 2026 at the Malay Heritage Centre. This year, we celebrated 14 outstanding Arab youth, across diverse fields and educational pathways, from GCE "A" Levels to Masters. Each awardee has the drive, commitment and values that can shape the next generation of leaders in our community.
We were graced, once again by our Guest of Honour, former President of the Republic of Singapore and current Chancellor of Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), Madam Halimah Yacob, who was accompanied by AN@S' Patron, Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee, as well as other distinguished guests.
The evening began with a welcome address by AN@S President, Khadijah Alattas. This was followed by a motivational outreach by a friend of AN@S, Kelvin Ang, on the love of reading, the lasting value of books and learning. To promote this and to support local independent bookshops, Kelvin generously presented all awardees with book vouchers. A special highlight was our Fireside Chat segment with Mdm Halimah, moderated by Omar Alattas, Head of Education at AN@S, where our GoH responded to specific questions put forward by the awardees. The candid and engaging exchange gave our youth an opportunity to hear directly from someone who has dedicated much of her life to serving the community.
As the evening drew to a close, we came together to sing the National Anthem, marking the eve of National Day, and celebrating the Singapore we all call home.
Heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, awardees, families, guests, volunteers and friends of AN@S for making the evening full of celebration, inspiration and meaningful connections. Here’s to celebrating our youth, supporting their journeys, and continuing to invest in the future of our community.
